about us
We make clean, timeless cycling apparel that performs without demanding attention. Inspired by San Francisco’s ever-changing weather, our pieces are built to layer, adapt, and last, with a focus on quality construction and responsible production. Most of our gear is made in the USA, and while we may like to ride fast sometimes, we are very far from fast fashion.
our commitment
CLEAN DESIGN
When Ornot began in 2013, cycling was dominated by massive logos and team replica kits. Ornot set out to offer well-designed cycling clothing with minimal branding, made in California, at a fair price. Over a decade later, our original ethos is as relevant as ever:
You could be a rolling billboard, Ornot.
S.o.p.
Fabric + Material
We design with certified recycled and natural fibers, and our Special Projects collection makes use of deadstock fabrics and materials. We prioritize Bluesign and Oeko-Tex certified textiles, and all of our DWR coatings are PFAS-free.
Even our packaging is intentional, using recycled, compostable, or upcycled materials made from ocean-harvested plastic, and it’s designed to be reused when returning or exchanging items.

MADE IN USA
We prioritize U.S. manufacturing because proximity brings accountability. Working closely with our sewing partners allows us to maintain quality, move quickly, and build real relationships with the people who make our products possible.
While great products are made all over the world, producing domestically aligns with how we want to operate, investing in skilled labor, strengthening the local economy, and supporting a more responsible production system. It’s not a tagline. It’s a commitment we continue to stand behind.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
One of the most sustainable things we can do? Use what already exists. That’s the concept behind Special Projects—limited-run garments made from premium deadstock fabrics, cut and sewn in California. When they're gone, they're gone.
Some of our most beloved pieces (remember that decadent merino? Or the original microgrid?) were born this way. It’s a sustainability win, a creative constraint, and a chance to make something out of something forgotten.
Check out the latest Special Projects before they disappear (literally):

1% For The Planet
Every purchase you make with us sends 1% to nonprofits protecting clean air, clean water, and the places we ride. Through 1% for the Planet, your support goes directly to the organizations making the most impact.
For us, 1% of revenue is a real commitment. We’re a small, independent company without outside investors, but we believe giving back is part of doing business the right way. From recycled fabrics to California manufacturing to compostable packaging, responsibility guides everything we do.
By choosing Ornot, you’re joining a global movement where small choices create big change. Together we can protect the planet — and keep it a place worth riding.

RIGHT TO REPAIR
Durability is one of the most effective sustainability strategies there is. We build our gear to last for years, and we stand behind it with a one-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Wear happens, and when it does, we believe in the right to repair.
Our repair program addresses common issues so products stay in use, not in landfills. Repairing almost always has a lower environmental impact than replacing. By backing what we make and supporting repairs, we reduce waste and honor the value of well-made clothing.
