High-loft insulation (the Alpha) traps heat, while the air-exchange system moves moisture so you stay dry instead of clammy on long rides. Are these waterproof?
No, but they are nice and warm. They also keep your hands dry thanks to the Polartec Alpha lining. Why? Because Alpha allows moisture vapor to escape.
