The City By the bay
Living here, you learn pretty quickly how to move with the city. The hills, the fog, the microclimates, nothing is flat or predictable. Whether you’re on a bike, a skateboard, or hopping on a cable car, you adjust as you go. After a while, the terrain starts to shape you. It changes your route, your pace, and how you move through the streets and into the hills.
That shared experience is where this collaboration comes from. Ferris interprets Chico’s relationship to movement through layered artwork that comes to life across a range of Ornot pieces. The City Collection reflects San Francisco as we know it, shaped by the people who move through it every day.
Chico is a San Francisco–based pro skateboarder who came up in the EMB era, known for the nollie heel flip, aka the Chico flip. Born in Nicaragua and raised in the Bay, he now splits his time between skating, riding, and good coffee.
FERRIS PLOCK (PRO ARTIST)
Ferris is a San Francisco artist known for layered, character-driven work that shows up everywhere from your local coffee shop to SFMOMA. Based in the Richmond District, he often collaborates with his wife, Kelly Tunstall.
MATT QUANN (CHIEF BIKE RIDER @ORNOT )
The founder of Ornot, Matt, grew up skating and riding before starting the brand in a Lower Haight Victorian in 2013. It was built on the idea that good gear doesn’t need big logos, just thoughtful design and responsible production.
DEADSTOCK DECKS
printed here
Limited to 50 pieces, this hand-screened board by B.V.B and Chico is a nod to the ’90s. Three colors on top, seven on the bottom. That’s 10 pulls per board, all done by hand. Printed on Deadstock Schmitt Stix blanks, these won't be around long.
We made everything in this collection as close to San Francisco as possible. The decks were hand-screened in the Sunset, UV Trail shirts were sewn in the Mission, the House Jerseys and Boxers were made in Oakland alongside the cotton tees.
After a knee injury, Chico got on a bike for rehab and never really stopped. He found his way to Ornot soon after, and now splits his time between skating, riding, and coffee.
Ornot designs cycling apparel inspired by San Francisco’s microclimates, focusing on breathability, durability, and minimal branding. Many garments are made in the USA using recycled fabrics and responsible production.
Designed in San Francisco and made using recycled performance fabrics, Ornot cycling bib shorts prioritize durability, minimal branding, and all-day riding comfort.
