HIGH SCHOOL MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING!!!
Remember high school sports? Football, Basketball, Cross-country, Swimming, etc? Well, these kids get to ride their bikes after school for “practice”. On the weekends they get together for a big ride or go to a scheduled race against other high school teams in their conference. This is so cool, and we’re extremely excited to be sponsoring the SF Comp High school team (it’s a “composite team” of multiple SF high schools). As many rides do, this one started at the golden gate bridge. The plan was to ride to Mill Valley, pick up the rest of the team, and head out for a fun day of adventure on Mt. Tam.
UP MT TAM.
Railroad grade is probably one of the most popular ways to ascend Tam, especially for people coming from SF. The ride immediately split up into groups as everyone gauged their efforts. The ride had multiple route options lead by different coaches and everyone was going to be nice and tired by the end of the day.
NOT EVEN NEAR THE TOP...
But time for some skids. Still not at the top, but on their way to some fun trail sections. This is also where we had to say goodbye to the group and head back. We look forward to many more rides with the team along with visiting some of the local races while cheering on the kids of SF Composite. #morekidsonbikes
