These bibs were nice. I have 3 other pairs of the short bibs and was excited for these thermals. I had purchased a Rapha classic thermal bib that was on sale to compare. The Rapha was a bit nicer (at almost $100 more when full price…), I liked the webbing n the shoulders vs the thermal material which felt a bit more chunky. The pad felt great, same as the other Ornot pads I love. I’m 6’ 185lbs and orders a Large. The inseam was in the longer side which I liked. The Rapha material seemed to have a tighter knit on the outside that I liked, but not a deal breaker. If the Rapha’s were full price, I would have kept the Ornot thermals, no question. I love Ornot, great customer service and made local, which I think is awesome.
I just layer it with my regular bibs underneath. Super warm - warm enough for NYC winter morning rides. I've worn it for rides down to -20F and was super toasty. My fingers gave up first...
I commute to work all year long and these bibs have been a game changer. Warm. Dry. Comfortable.
I really do like these, as they kept me warm in about 35-45 degree (Fahrenheit) weather, but weren't too hot up to low to mid 50 degrees. The sizing is non European (e.g. like Castelli) so you can order as you would normally or a size down if you like it tighter. I'm an XL in Castelli, an L in Assos, and ordered an L Ornot but would have been comfortable in an M. Overall, solid product that does it's job in the cold weather without breaking the bank. The reason that it's a 4 star is the chamois does not quite stack up to Assos, but was equal to or better than other brands.
